Final Thoughts on the 2024 Federated Health Campaign

2024 federated health charities campaign results

As I wrote at the beginning of the campaign, the Federated Health Charities campaign has always been “our” charity organization, run by Ontario’s provincial employees and that’s part of what makes this campaign special.

When we come together, as volunteers, donors, campaign chairs, we’re helping to make a difference in peoples’ lives in Ontario.

And like every one of the previous 40 years, the funds raised go to help those in need in our communities, like the 1 in 5 adults in Ontario living with arthritis, 1 in 3 people in Ontario who have diabetes or prediabetes, and the 2 in 5 of us who will be diagnosed with cancer during our lifetime.

We are thrilled to announce that we successfully achieved our target of raising $1.6 million though the 2024 campaign!  This is a huge accomplishment, and it is a testament to the hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment of all of the OPS employees who volunteered to make this initiative possible.  You should all feel extremely proud of what you have achieved.

The money our campaign raises each year provides our charities with unrestricted funding so it can be used towards the charities’ greatest needs, whether that’s providing equipment, free-of-charge, for people living with spinal cord injury, or helping people with sickle cell disease get the new genetic therapies that are just becoming available.

I especially want to thank our amazing volunteers in ministry offices, OPP detachments and provincial agencies across Ontario. This campaign would not happen every year without our volunteers who continue to work hard at their home positions while donating hours of their time to ensure the campaign success.

Federated Health Charities has a small team with just two full-time staffers and a part-time paid graphic designer. So, we are especially grateful to ministries who volunteer a secondee for a year. We could not organize and execute a campaign the size of ours without this help.

Every year, our public employees rise to the challenge so, on behalf of the Federated Health team and the 21 charities that make up Federated Health Charities, thank you for helping make our 2024 campaign a success!
