To date we have written about ministries and what they have done during this campaign to raise funds. As well, we have talked about some campaign superstars. Today we are going to talk about some highlights in terms of fundraising and event originality.
Pledges:
- MOH had 499 pledges this year compared to 382 last year that yielded almost $16,000 more in payroll pledges for 2024.
- MECP had 233 pledges this year compared to 190 last year that yielded over $10,000 more in payroll pledges for 2024.
- MCCSS had 425 pledges this year compared to 366 last year that yielded almost $9,000 more in payroll pledges for 2024.
- MINES had 24 pledges this year compared to 13 last year that yielded just under $5000 more in payroll pledges for 2024 (pretty much doubled their pledgers).
- WSIAT had 43 pledges this year compared to 21 last year that yielded just a couple of bucks under $5,000 more in payroll pledges for 2024.
One Time Gifts:
- MLTC had a 643% increase, raising almost 10x more than last year ($2181 vs $293)
- MSAA had a 547% increase, raising $1000 more than last year ($1295 vs $200)
- WSIAT had a 397% increase and raised $7000 more than last year ($9272 vs $1867)
- OPP, MTO, and MLITSD all saw increases of approximately 300%.
Lottery
- MEDJCT, MOH, MLITSD, IAO, MFA, MTCS, MSAA, MOI, MLTC, MINES, MND, Metrolinx, and Ontario Northland all bought more tickets this year than in the last 3 years.
- Metrolinx sold almost $1,500 more than last year, MLTC sold over $1,000 more than last year.
- MTCS almost doubled last year’s sales and raised just over $2,000 this year.
- MCCSS sold the most this year and raised almost $2,000 more than last year,
Special Events
Auctions
- OMAFA and MRA increased their total by approximately $12,000 over last year, mostly through their amazing auction
- SOLGEN raised over $13,000 with their auction
- MTO’s auction raised over $4,000
Other Events
- MOH – Special event favourites included the 50/50 raffles, Mario Kart tournament, samosa sales, bake sales and breakfasts.
- OMAFRA – Best events were the Easter Egg Hunt and salsa dancing lessons.
- EDU – Very successful 50/50; ice cream social “Sundae Funday”
- MLITSD favourites: the historical walk and Trivia Triad
- MNRF – hosted 50/50 raffle.
- MECP –tv competition chef host a baking session and was a great hit.
- MOF – held 2 in-person Impact Expos with FHC charities, a successful plant sale, and a divisional raffle.
- CO – raised funds with a successful, professional head shots event at their kick-off.
- MCU – raised pre-pandemic amounts with 1/3 fewer staff in the ministry.
- MPBSD – the pet contest was a hit, as was the carnival.
- ON Heritage Trust/MCM – the ADM competed in VERZUZ and they also had a tour of the Wintergarden/Elgin Theatres, and a signed Raptors Jersey as a raffle!
- MOE – started off with events and kept it going throughout their campaign, 1 or 2 events per week, including a fun Office Olympics event.
Most of the agencies designed events to suit their workplace and made the campaign “theirs”. Metrolinx really embraced the new online pledge platform as did OLG. WSIAT had a great 50/50 raffle and the winner donated funds back.
Joint Events
TBS ran a joint auction with MOF. MTO, MLITSD and MPCSD ran Trivia Triad, another great multi ministry event.
