As the Executive Director of Federated Health Charities, I want to share something simple but important: I’m asking.
You may have never been asked to make a payroll donation before. Many people haven’t. But with just four weeks left in our 2025 campaign, I’m asking now—because your support matters more than ever.
Our goal is to raise $1.6 million to support 21 health charities that provide vital services, programs, research, and support to Ontarians—families like yours and mine—who are living with or will be diagnosed with serious illnesses.
Why Payroll Donations Matter

Payroll donations are the lifeblood of our campaign. Since 1983, they’ve made up the bulk of the financial support from Ontario public service employees. They’re easy, automatic, and powerful.
The money comes right off your paycheque.
You choose where it goes—one charity, a few, or all 21.
It provides consistent, year-round funding to organizations that need it to keep helping people.
So I’m just asking:
If you’ve never donated, would you consider $10 or $20 per pay? Or more if you’re able?
If you’re a returning donor, could this be the year you increase your gift by 10% or more?
This year’s theme is “Individual Giving, Collective Impact.” It takes a village—and with over 80,000 employees across the OPS, OPP, and provincial agencies, we have the power to make a lasting difference.
So I’m asking. Let’s finish strong. Let’s do this—together.
