In the Federated Health space, January kicks-off what we consider our “on-season”. This means that we are in full preparation and unrolling mode for the upcoming campaign. This may seem early, since the campaign doesn’t kick-off until April, but there is a ton of work that goes in to preparing the campaign. So, we have been hard at work over here building the website and online platforms required for the campaign, developing all training materials for the volunteers, and preparing our communications material to facilitate an inclusive and province-wide campaign. The other key piece that kicks-off the on-season, is we get the ball rolling on recruiting the amazing group of employees who will lead this year’s campaign. We communicate with all participating ministry, agency, and OPP leads to select the people who will act as the Executive Lead & Campaign Chairs for each campaign. There are over 30 different campaigns that run each year, so this step involves recruiting a lot of people and is an important first part of the campaign preparation.
We have also been busy with some more behind-the-scenes work as we look to recruit new members to our Board of Directors. In case you didn’t know, Federated Health Charities is an independently incorporated not-for-profit that is governed by a Board of Directors. Our Board of Directors is made up of Ontario Public Service employees, representatives from the health sector, and relevant community representatives. We are in the midst of a recruitment process to bring on three new representatives from the health sector and have been please with the volume, and caliber, of the applicants we have received. It is such an honour that such skilled individuals want to give their time to our organization. We look forward to completing the selection process and welcoming new voices, skills, and perspectives to our Board.
