On June 28 the Federated Health Charities (FHC) Campaign wrapped up and we marked this occasion with a wrap celebration that was attended by over 750 OPS’ers. At the virtual event, Dr. Famida Jiwa, Chair of the FHC Board and President & CEO of Osteoporosis Canada spoke about the charities’ appreciation for all our support and how small one-time gifts of $25 or $50 go immediately towards the most urgent need in programming and support services. She addressed how the charities have been impacted by the financial downturn in Canada and how it has negatively impacted their ability to support their clients. This has left a situation where the needs of their clients have never been higher, but the resources to help are at a concerning low.
On behalf of the entire team at the Heart and Stroke Foundation, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the generous support provided by Federated Health Charities. Your unwavering support not only fuels our ongoing efforts but also inspires hope for a future free of heart disease and stroke. Many people living with sickle cell disease in Ontario continue to receive sub-optimal care due to the limited knowledge and interest of some healthcare providers in sickle cell disease.
Funding from the Federated Health Charities campaign has been instrumental in supporting our healthcare providers’ education program among other programs to improve the quality of care received by people with sickle cell disease in Ontario.
For this reason, we thank you again for your donations to the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO).
Warm regards,
– Lanre Tunji-Ajayi, M.S.M., President/Chief Executive Officer. Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario

On behalf of our Hemophilia families, I would like to say thanks for your support of the Federated Health Charities Campaign.
The funds we receive from this campaign goes towards sending our Hemophilia youth to our Infusion camp. This is where they learn through training provided by our clinic nurses to infuse their blood clotting factor, a necessity in the management of their Hemophilia.
As well as taking responsibility for the management of their condition, they enjoy a full camp experience and the ability to make new friends and develop a network with youth dealing with the same condition as them.
Thanks again for your support, it makes a difference.
– Byron James, Executive Director, Hemophilia Ontario
