Federated Health Charities is committed to being transparent with our donors. We believe there should be no mystery about how we operate or how your donations are used.
The most important thing we want our donors to know is that when you donate to Federated Health Charities, 100% of your donation goes to the charity/charities of your choice.
We don’t keep a percentage of any donations we receive, we don’t spend money on merchandise, and we don’t use paid fundraisers. Instead, every dollar that we receive is passed on to our member charities.
Our amazing volunteers and the supports we receive from the Government of Ontario helps keep our costs low. Our annual campaign is still organized and run by OPS, OPP and agency employees, volunteering their time and their skills, just like has been for more than 40 years. Seconded staff that helps to write for the website and social media, work with volunteer committees at the local levels, organize campaign-wide events, and much more are paid for through their seconded ministries so we can maintain our promise of 100% of donations to the charities.
What expenses we do have are paid for by our member charities out of their existing fundraising budgets but our connection to the Ontario Public Service means we can fundraise among provincial employees more efficiently than our charities can individually. So, when you give to one (or all) of our charities through Federated Health Charities, you’re not just donating to a great cause, you’re helping our charities stretch their dollars further by reducing their fundraising costs.
