Thank you from Federated Health Charities to our 2023 campaign volunteers!
The annual Federated Health Charities campaign is one of Canada’s largest workplace fundraising campaigns. Our campaign involves more than 60,000 provincial employees from 42 government ministries, agencies and the OPP in workplaces all across the province. It takes hundreds of people to run a fundraising campaign like ours, and our full-time staff of three could never do it alone. That is why we are so profoundly grateful to our volunteers from the OPS, OPP and provincial agencies across Ontario.
2023 marks Federated Health Charities’ 40th anniversary, but the roots of our campaign go back even further to the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart & Stroke fundraisers in the 1960s and 70s. It’s amazing to think that Federated Health Charities and the tradition of charitable fundraising in the Ontario Public Service is older than most of our staff and volunteers. But what’s even more amazing is that every year for more than 40 years when we have asked for help with our campaign, Ontario’s public servants have stepped up and volunteered their time, their skills and their passion to help run our campaign in addition to their regular responsibilities. In good times and bad, in the middle of provincial elections and global pandemics, our volunteers have always been there for Federated Health Charities and for the people and families who depend on the 21 charities we represent.
That’s why we want to say THANK YOU to all our volunteers.
There are a thousand and one things that need to happen at any one time to bring a campaign like ours to life. The contributions of every one of our volunteers play an essential part in the success of our campaign. Thank you to all our volunteers. Thank you to our chair and executive teams, all the divisional, regional and branch leads, event organizers, canvassers, everyone who contributed items for bake sales and silent auctions, and everyone who helped with campaign communications, from drafting emails and designing graphics to putting up posters in your workspaces. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm, your hard work, and most of all, your heart. When we say that Federated Health Charities is “the heart of the OPS”, it’s you we’re talking about – our amazing, generous volunteers who make our campaign happen each year.
